That was a unexpected and pleasant outing

Last night, Pip called me to say that she had two tickets to a play for tonight (her parents having to make a sudden trip, they offered her the tickets) and would I like to go? Yes, please!
So tonight we went out to Kirribilli and saw Nothing Personal at the Ensemble Theatre. It was good! I wouldn't call it brilliant or particularly memorable but it felt real. These were people you might meet, situations you might experience. And there was a great deal of something I've seen a lot of the last few years - people miscommunicating because they're not operating from the same platform. As Roz says, 'The message received is not the message that was sent.' There were also plenty of comments about the publishing industry that made me snort (and I think Mum would have been cracking up.) But it was more about relationships and generational change than publishing, that was just the setting that was used.
We had dinner at the attached restaurant beforehand (which overlooks the water) which was good. Spent lots of time talking (I don't usually talk that much outside my own head - there's a reason for my icon - but sometimes I just start vocalising and you can't shut me up.)
It was fun. And it was a part of the city I hadn't seen before. The cool breeze off the water was a nice change after the heat today and there was a very pretty park nearby. If you have to live in the city ... and you have a million dollars.
